Publicado 10-30-17

The City of Sevierville Police Department, in partnership with Walgreen’s store #06609 at 119 Forks of the River Parkway, collected over 70 pounds of unwanted, unused and expired drugs on Saturday, October 28, 2017.

As a full-time partner with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), the City of Sevierville Police Department (SPD) partnered with Walgreen’s in the 14th National DEA Drug Take Back Initiative. A total of approximately 72.71 pounds of drugs were collected.

“We appreciate our community for their awareness of the potential misuse of prescription drugs,” said SPD Chief Don Myers. After collection, all drugs are destroyed by incinerator and any plastics received are recycled.

In addition to drug take back events, citizens may drop-off drugs at the SPD Drug Take Back receptacle any time or day of the week. The service is free and anonymous. The following drugs are accepted:
• Todas las pastillas y polvos sueltos.
• Sólo se aceptan medicamentos líquidos en envases sellados.
• Medicamentos y ayudas sellados (es decir, suministros para diabéticos, medidores, etc.)
En este momento, el departamento no puede aceptar jeringas u otros tipos de parafernalia de drogas.
